Description of the ship

The GROOTVORST was built in 1896 as a river clipper and served as a cargo ship until the 30s of the last century. In 1985, it finally caught the lot of many sailing ships: It was no longer profitable as a cargo ship. In the same year, the Grootvorst was completely rebuilt and taken as the exclusive passenger sailor in the ride. She got three masts with 520 m² sail area and today, in 2010, she is still a magnificent three-masted clippers.

From the cockpit of the spacious deck one has access to the salon. This cozy room offers shelter in bad weather and a wonderful view of the water.

Below deck are a comfortable lounge and the fully equipped with gas stove, oven, oven, dishwasher and dispenser galley. A large cold room makes the galley a professional restaurant kitchen. For barbecues on board is also a large gas grill available.
